Grand Prix Round 1 Avon Hawks

Avon Hawks

Well here we go again the 2017 Grand Prix under way with the start round one at Avon Hawks Bristol.

Lovely start to the season with great sunshine light winds and friendly faces all catching up on over their winter league shoots while some chopping on burgers and or fish & chips.

After a chat and a drink from an almost 3 hour journey we decided to walk the course and see what’s what.
The plinking and the first few lanes were as I remember them from two years ago almost the same and walking the rest of the course I was getting the same feeling. This was not disappointing as the course two years ago was fantastic and this year didn’t disappoint either. The course was mainly long and some looked miles away almost over 55 yards this was just the tunnelling effect of the trees made. The Am session was having very light winds and on walking it , it almost felt clearable even though it looked long. The Pm session for sure had the stronger winds of the two rounds but this didn’t stop some cracking scores coming in.
Dylan Varney AA from NEFTA won the day with 49 and a cracking start to his 2017 season, Well done Dylan keep it up and congratulations to all the other winners.
