Essex 50 Glass man 2017 Winners and Results

Essex 50 Glass man Trophy held at East Tilbury and Linford Field Target Club, ETL for short.

Club information can be found here.

The morning started a little cold but soon warmed up to give a lovely days shooting. There was a very small amount of wind but enough to aim off target zone. It was expected due to the conditions there was going to be a lot of high scoring if not a clear round. The clear round didn’t happen but high scores were put in but only one shooter came out on top clear of the pack and that was our Nathan Reeve, Well done Nathan second big win of the year also winning the show down a few week earlier.

Well done to all the other winners in their classes, full results can be found below along with a video supplied by Andy Mason Films.

World Field Target Championship Wales 2017

Glanusk Estate in Wales held the Worlds Field Target Championship 2017.

This was to be my first ever Worlds FT competition I’ve taken part in and hopefully not my last. This was a three day event which consisted of a 50 targets shot course everyday. It was nice to see many different nationalities from all over the world turn up for which is still an amateur sport, over 300 shooters attended.

The competition was held in the beautiful grounds of Glanusk in Wales which supported three separate courses, Black, Yellow and White course all set at different levels of hardness, Black being the hardest yellow the middle and white being the easier course of the three. The competitors were split into Am and Pm slots due to the high number of attendants, Lady’s, Piston, Veterans, and teams were selected AM sessions leaving the rest to PM sessions. I personally would have liked to see the names pulled out the hat to determine sessions and to alternate the sessions over the three days but this wasn’t to be. The Am shooters ended up with light rain and less windier sessions but the Pm with the much windier sessions which no one can foresee before the games begin, this is the reason why I’d liked to have seen the allocation mixed I hope this will be the case in England 2019.
Never the less this didn’t spoil a fantastic three days shooting the whole event ran very smoothly from start to finish. The crew who set out the courses did so very well on all three courses with I think just one target out of 150 needing attention over the three days shooting.

I’d like to thank everyone involved in making this event possible over the week it was a great success. I will be doing this again I’ve got the bug.!

Congratulation to Jack Harris again for winning his second World Champion title and on home ground plus also which shouldn’t be missed, Congratutions to young Redvers Gallagher for clearing the Black course 50/50 on the last days shooting, I wonder if he’s gong to keep that scope now.? 🙂

A big thank you from WFTC2017.Wales
