FFTA Winter league Round 3 Lea Valley Air Gun Club

FFTA Winter league Round 3
27th November 2016

Held at Lea Valley Air Gun Club based in Hertford.

Lea Valley can be a very tricky course at times especially if last year is anything to go by when the winds were so strong it made hard work just sitting on the bag.! But conditions for once for the first time this year where claim with little puffs of breeze swirling around the bowls with no rain. The Weatherman did however forecast just a couple of spots for the afternoon and he was so right, I counted 4… he’s getting good.

The course was set out in its normal format in and around the bowls with each bowl giving its various levels of wind but mainly from the right having to come out of the kill only but a few times. Even so it made you think and think hard too cos you knew there was wind but how much.? Sometimes they just went straight at 50yards.!! who’d have thought it eh…

The day went very well again with only one whistle being blown, so thank you Lea Valley for a great course and company.

The results have been updated with many shooters now completing their first three shoots making their new grade for this years winter league 2016/2017. Congratulations to all the winners on the day top three listed below along with a video of the day.

The next round 4 is at Sywell Air Gun Club on the 11th December, see you there.

FFTA Winter League Round 2 – 6th November 2016 MidShires Marksmen

The second round was held at Midshires Marksmen based in Sandy Bedfordshire.

The course planner was David Clark and set out by club members making this one of if not the best course we have seen at the club.

On the competition day the weather was not taking any prisoners with freezing gusting swirling winds and rain later to follow on in the Piston second round but despite the weather all clubs gave a good turnout and nice to see some new faces.

Fun was had by all even with the freezing conditions and myself even though I missed most of the targets. So a big thank you to all at Midshires for making this a great course and shoot.

Also well done to Nathan Reeve Cromer and Simon Ayers Broadlands for making the England 2017 Team next year in Wales.
