The Paul James British recoiling Championships 2018 has broken three new records, the foggiest, the snowiest and the highest scoring. The event gets better and better every year an event not to be missed.
Although the weather had turned some distance shooters away there was still a very good turn out.

This year saw a new competition within the event Silhouettes, this consisted of four racks of targets varying in size and shape with 5 targets on each rack. This was won by Dave Thomlinson after a shoot off between Andy Pearson both scoring 16.

Also a new side shoot which I can see being awarded a trophy to the winner next year after it being such a hit with everyone a ten target spring Pistol shoot. I’m not sure who won this but much fun was had by all even though most of us missed all the targets, I think the highest being 4.?

The main event was fantastic, the course and weather were very well matched as the course wasn’t the hardest I’d seen from past experience but combine with the very foggy condition a nice balance…Well done the course setters.

One chap I’ve got to feel sorry for and that’s Phil Hollis putting in a mighty 37/40 only missing 3 and would have any other time won the competition easy, if it wasn’t for super human John Amos winning the day with 38/40 only missing two. Top shooting John well done, the new British Recoiling Champion (Hall of Fame)

HFT Winner was first time visitor Daniel Gordon, SFT Winner After Shoot Off with Andy Calpin Graham Cooper…. well done both of you.

Looking forward to next years event already and congratulations to everyone who helped raise £2,567.94 this year!
