Sunday 3rd April 2016 saw the Inter-Regional Champions event where all regions from up and down the country take part to try to become Inter-Regional Champions.
The day started a little warmer than it did the day before on the British PCP Championship but was still overcast and damp…..drizzle at times. Each individual member from all regions was allocated a squad number, mine was 5 and I soon found a partner to whom I was familiar and shot with before Martin Caplin. So found I a partner and done my plinking everything going great, light winds much like the day before and time to start on lane 1 kneeler’s. First shot looks ok, not too far, a gimme, nice to start you off, unless like me you miss both with an army mostly full of cameras behind you watching and recording you make the biggest mistake of the day. This started me off on the wrong foot for the next five lanes being six down in ten, my worst ever start.
What a nightmare.!
We turned the corner at the bottom of the course and Martin helped settle me back down, I soon started to knock them over judging the wind nicely even getting the long ones for a change…. but I think it was too late, the damage had already been done from the first lanes.
We both carried on as now for both of us the pressures was off and just set about enjoying the rest of the field which we did. I managed to come off with 29 and Martin with 25 and this was made all the worse after hearing James Osborne cleared the course 40/40..!!
Well done James top shooting.!
For this we will be putting you in our new Clearance Hall of Fame.
The Inter-Regional Champions 2016 were WAFTA, well done boys… Full results can be found here
